Glass Materials

Glass Material Drives Performance

We are in the glass deep-processing industry. We purchase glass substrates and perform processes such as cutting, edge grinding, drilling, tempering, screen printing, and coating. However, we do not manufacture raw glass sheets ourselves. There are only a few manufacturers of raw glass sheets; they only produce the base glass and do not perform deep-processing. Moreover, they do not sell directly to end users, only to distributors, who then supply deep-processing factories like ours.

The glass substrates we use mainly come from two sources:

International:

Well-known global brands such as SCHOTT, Saint-Gobain, Pilkington, AGC (Asahi Glass), Corning, and others.

Domestic (China):

Leading Chinese manufacturers, including CSG (China Southern Glass), TBG (Taiwan Glass), CTEG (China Triumph), Zibo Glass, Luoyang Glass, Mingda, Shandong Jinjing, Qinhuangdao Glass, Yaohua, Fuyao, Weihai Glass, Qibin, and others.

At SAIDA GLASS CO., LTD, we understand that the true potential of glass lies in its material composition. The specific chemical makeup of glass determines its key properties, such as thermal resistance, strength, clarity, and durability. Selecting the right type of glass is essential to the success of your product—from everyday items to cutting-edge technology.

Below is an overview of the primary glass materials we specialize in and the advantages they offer.

1. Soda-Lime Glass-600-400

1. Soda-Lime Glass — The Everyday Workhorse

Composition: Silica (sand), soda, lime
Characteristics: Cost-effective, chemically stable, optically clear, highly workable. Relatively high thermal expansion, susceptible to thermal shock.
Common Uses: Building glass, touch screen cover glass, tempered glass for home appliances, smart home devices, lighting, solar glass.

2. Borosilicate Glass — Thermal Resistant Performer

Composition: Silica with boron trioxide
Characteristics: Excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion. Can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking.
Common Uses: Laboratory glassware, sight glass, pharmaceutical containers, high-quality kitchenware, precision optical components.

2. Borosilicate Glass600-400
3. Aluminosilicate Glass600-400

3. Aluminosilicate Glass — Durable & Resilient

Composition: Silica with high aluminum oxide content
Characteristics: Superior chemical durability, high hardness, scratch-resistant, thermally stable, stronger than soda-lime glass. Often chemically strengthened.
Common Uses: High-end smartphone/tablet cover glass, touch screens, industrial and military applications.

4. Fused Quartz Glass — Purity & Extreme Performance

Composition: Nearly pure silicon dioxide (SiO₂)
Characteristics: Extremely low thermal expansion, high optical transmission (UV–IR), high thermal shock resistance, excellent electrical insulation. Can withstand temperatures up to 1100℃.
Common Uses: Semiconductor equipment, optical fibers, high-power laser lenses, UV lighting systems.

4. Fused Quartz Glass-600-400
5. Ceramics-Glass-600-400

5. Ceramics-Glass — Engineered Materials

Composition: Glass transformed into polycrystalline materials via controlled crystallization
Characteristics: Strong, scratch-resistant, sometimes zero thermal expansion, highly machinable, can be transparent or colored.
Common Uses: Consumer electronics cover glass, cooktop panels, telescope mirrors, fireplace glass.

6. Sapphire Glass — Ultimate Hardness

Composition: Single-crystal aluminum oxide
Characteristics: Second only to diamond in hardness, extremely scratch-resistant, strong, highly transparent across wide wavelength range.Variants include black crystals, white microcrystals, and transparent microcrystals
Common Uses: Watch crystals, protective windows for barcode scanners, optical sensors, rugged device camera lenses.

6. Sapphire Glass-600-400
